Our CEO, Leo Coates and our VP of Sales, Ed Welsh, had the incredible opportunity of presenting our latest innovations to the Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, during his inaugural US Tour.

During his 24-hour visit in Chicago, the Australian Trade and Investment Commission organized for five different companies with ties to Australia to present to an audience consisting of the PM, Australia’s Ambassador to the US, CEO of the 1871 offices and other notable figures.

When meeting with the PM, Leo introduced the history of Coates Group and the considerable growth that we have experienced to become the globally renowned organization that we are today.

Leo demonstrated our strong presence in the US with a focus on our role in McDonald’s Outdoor Digital Merchandising Board (ODMB) rollout and License Place Recognition (LPR). The PM participated in the LPR demo, holding up a license plate to the camera, acting as a customer travelling through a Drive Thru.

At the end, Leo even reminisced his previous experience meeting the PM and his wife at a dinner a couple of years ago, where he also learned that they had in fact previously lived on the same street!

We send a huge thank you to PM Scott Morrison for the amazing opportunity to represent Australian businesses in the Midwest and the Australian Trade and Investment Commission for arranging the event.

We couldn’t have had done this without our Coates Crew and your hard work and continuous drive towards innovation.
