R U OK, Australia’s suicide prevention charity aims to inspire and empower by reminding people that having meaningful conversations with loved ones could save lives. Once a year R U OK hosts a day dedicated to reminding everyone that any day is a day you can ask, “Are you ok?”
This was a message that the Coates Group can get behind. Inspired by the RUOK initiative, Coates Group set out to use this opportunity to strengthen the bonds and support systems in the office. The Coates Crew members jumped right in to the initiative by wearing yellow items on R U OK Day and were encouraged to start conversations with one another over a free cup of coffee.
We are fortunate enough to have BeyondBlue, the referral partner of R U OK Day, send one of their ambassadors to enlighten and inspire us with a talk about their own experiences of mental health.
