Since the rise of the pandemic, the mental health and well-being of our people is a key focus area that we've committed to heavily investing in.

Our Crew are at the heart of everything that we do, so we're always on the lookout to implement new initiatives that can help our incredible people be their best selves both at work and home.

To achieve this, we are proud to introduce a new program called ‘Thrive’, enabled by our People & Culture team, which reinforces the value of employee mental health and well-being through a range of initiatives and activities for 2022 and beyond.

So, let's get to it. What are some of the initiatives we’ve implemented?

Additional Paid Time Off

In recognition of World Mental Health Day, our Crew will now receive one paid Wellness Day Off each year.

The purpose of our Wellness Day is to give our Crew a well-deserved break that provides dedicated time and space for them to stop, relax and rejuvenate. We understand the demands of work and meeting deadlines, but we also understand the importance of letting our Crew reset and recharge by giving their bodies, minds and souls some much-needed rest to better balance their professional and personal lives.

In addition, we have also introduced a paid day off for giving back to the community called ‘Give Back’ day so our Crew can dedicate time to volunteer for a cause that’s close to their hearts.

Free Fitness Classes & Health Talks

A variety of corporate wellness and fitness sessions have also been included in the program such as free Yoga, Pilates, HIIT and Meditation classes. In addition, a series of educational health talks by inspirational guest speakers will also be included who share their insights for living a healthier lifestyle.

Flexible Work Program

Our game-changing Flexible Work Program is designed to create a collaborative culture that meets our business, team and individual needs as we operate in a new world.

What does this mean?

Our framework for Flexible Work provides a suite of options for our current and future Crew because we understand there is no ‘one size fits all' approach to flex work.

The preference might be going into the office a couple of days a week to engage with teams and other colleagues, collaborate, share ideas and socialise. On the other hand, working from home can provide more time for focused work and the flexibility to prioritise your days as needed.

Whatever the preference, we are believers in giving our Crew the balance and flexibility they need so that they never miss an important life or work moment.

Summer Fridays

We’re excited to introduce Summer Fridays across our global offices as another benefit of our Thrive program. This initiative allows our Crew to make the most of their summer when the season begins in their region. This means the opportunity to enjoy a more compacted work week during the summer period that allows for an early finish or late start on Fridays!

New Global Wellness Solution

Our latest and newest initiative to Thrive is a wellness solution for our global Crew to access free and confidential support from clinical psychologists and social workers to help with life's ups and downs. This program provides our Crew with the opportunity (whenever they need it) to access support for their emotional, mental, financial, occupational or physical well-being.

It is our commitment to continue creating an inclusive, progressive workplace culture that is responsive to the current and future needs of our business, our people and how we operate as ONE global team. With this in mind, our People & Culture and Senior Leadership Team will be working together to establish more initiatives that can play an integral role in developing and empowering our people.

Watch this space as we continue to unfold our program for Thrive with the goal of continuously creating exceptional experiences for our current and future Coates Crew.
